Adding & Customizing Read More Link In Blogger

Blogger have now enabled selective post summaries for our blogs. This means we can add a "jump break" in our posts, after which any content will only be visible on item pages.

So lets learn how to summarize your posts and give them the expandable functionality.
The steps that must be followed for planting this TNT are,

Step 1- Go to layout > Edit HTML
By backing up your template I mean that you must save a copy of your current template in your computer hard drive. If in case something goes wrong, you can restore your template and have everything working as normal as before.

To backup your template click on the link saying Download Full Template , as shown below
If suppose something goes wrong , you will simply click the Browse button, locate your saved template and then simply click the Upload button to restore your template back to normal.

Step 2- Click on "Expand Widget Templates" at the top right hand corner of your Edit HTML page

Step 3- Now find this code ]]></b:skin> (Pressing Ctrl + F and then paste this code into the search box)

Step 4- Just after ]]></b:skin> copy paste the code below,

Step 5- Now find this code  <data:post.body/>
And just after <data:post.body/> add the code below,

If you want to shift the "Read More->>" text to the right side, just change a single with:

You can replace the text Read More ->> with anything you like, e.g: Continue Reading, click her to read more etc.
If you want to shift the "Read More->>" text to the extreme-left side, use this code

Step 6- Save your template and you are Done!

Difference between Visit, Visitors, Pageview, Unique Pageview & Hit

According to Google:

Visit:
A "visit" means that a machine with a certain IP address has downloaded at least one of your pages, however if the same IP address downloads a different page, it's not another visit, because it's the same computer.
You should understand it as "how many individuals have visited the page"

Pageview:
A "Pageview" is defined as a view of a page on your site that is being tracked by the Analytics tracking code. If a visitor hits reload after reaching the page, this will be counted as an additional pageview. If a user navigates to a different page and then returns to the original page, a second pageview will be recorded as well.

On the other words, "page view" shows the number of total page downloads regardless of how many computers have executed that. So this could be 1 person reading 1000 pages or 1000 persons reading one page each.

Hit:
Hit - How many physical resources were requested from the server by that visit. Pages are made up of many items (images, text, etc). Each of those is a Hit, while a view is the page itself.

Think of it like a book store. A person goes into the store (visit) and picks up 5 books to buy (views). While he is holding the books, he flips through them and looks at a few pictures (hits). So he would have 1 visit to the store, 5 books handled during his visit (views), and maybe 30 pictures he looked at (hits).

Unique Pageview:
A Pageview is a single visit to a page. A 'Unique Pageview' is a visit to a page every 30 minutes. So, if a user visits your page once in 30 minutes, it'll be recorded as one visit and one unique pageview. If he visits the same page twice within 30 minutes, then it'll be 2 visits/pageviews and 1 unique pageview. But, if this user comes to the same page after 30 minutes, then it'll be counted as 2 visits/pageviews and 2 unique pageviews. This is because a 30-minute cookie is set and it counts as one session.
